Sam Zniber becomes Vice President of Radio Intelligence

Radio Intelligence, the world leader in strategy and research for radio, has recruited Sam Zniber as its new Vice President.

As a senior radio executive, Sam Zniber has overseen programming at radio stations and networks in the UK, Australia, France, Poland, Romania, South Africa, Germany, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia.

A major achievement is the revival of RTL Group’s Fun Radio. In 1999, he introduced the “groove & dance” rhythmic CHR format to Fun Radio and, in 2006, he returned for a second stint as Program Director for the station. He has also lifted audience figures for Clear

Channel’s Mix 106.5 in Sydney, the Galaxy network in the UK, the RTL2 network in France, and others.

Since 2007, Sam Zniber has operated as Vice President Programming of Lagardère Active, overseeing the programming of twenty-three radio networks across nine countries including France’s Virgin Radio.

Sam Zniber’s media and radio career began at NRJ in 1986, where he worked as producer, radio presenter, and production manager for eleven years. In the 1990s, he became a television presenter at France’s main national television channels TF1 and France 2.

In 1997, Sam Zniber joined RTL Group to serve as Program Manager of Fun TV. In 1998, he was made Program Manager of Fun Radio.

The UK’s Chrysalis Group recruited Sam Zniber in 2001 as Program Director of the Galaxy stations in Manchester and Newcastle. In only a few months, Galaxy went from third to first place in the ratings. Two years later he was appointed Program Director for Clear Channel’s Mix FM station in Australia. During his time at the station, the audience for Mix FM in Sydney jumped from 6.3% to 9.3%.

In 2005, Sam Zniber returned to France to become Program General Manager and Deputy Managing Director for RTL Group’s Fun Radio and RTL2.

Sam Zniber has executive education in media, Internet, radio, TV and marketing from Harvard University, UCLA, Columbia University and HEC Paris. He has also been a frequent speaker at the NAB Europe conference and at the Science Po University in Paris.
