Limbaugh Tops Talkers Heavy Hundred

Premiere Network’s Rush Limbaugh is still the most important talk personality in U.S. radio, according to the annual Talkers Heavy Hundred compiled by the talk radio business magazine Talkers.
Sean Hannity, also from Premiere Networks, stays as the runner-up in the list, while Dave Ramsey is up from number six to number three. Glenn Beck (Premiere) follows in fourth place and Michael Savage (Cumulus) is number five.

SBS Radio Launches My Rock in Denmark

SBS Radio will launch a new rock station in Denmark. My Rock will be broadcast in more than half of Denmark, with transmitters in Copenhagen, Odense, Vejle, Esbjerg and Aarhus.

“There is currently no rock station in Denmark, but in Sweden a similar radio station has had great success. Our new station will focus on modern rock music and will have a young profile, so we’re sure that My Rock will find an audience” says Jim Receveur, managing director of SBS Radio in Denmark, in a press release.

Emmis Sells Rádio Expres to Bauer

The market-leading Slovakian radio station Rádio Expres has been bought by Germany’s Bauer Media Group from Emmis.

Rádio Expres is the market leader in Slovakia since 2005, has a market share of 20% and 1.5 million listeners per week. The station uses a hot adult contemporary music format. The current owner is U.S. radio company Emmis.
